2. Going on Your Own: Business, Taxes, and Legal Considerations
This presentation brings a seasoned accounting and tax professional to TMHCA to share information on the legalities of getting started with a small business in Texas, business structure, and planning for taxes. Business knowledge and skills are an essential component of small business and private practice is no exception. Although not clinical in nature, being aware of ethics and laws related to business practice is part of a counselor's professional identity and responsibility. Participants will leave with an idea of how to get started in establishing their own business from a legal and organizational framework.

4.  Please see us! Counseling clients with invisible disabilities and their families
Invisible disabilities can have a significant impact on individuals and their families. One type of invisible disability is chronic pain. However, there is a dearth of research on the impact of chronic pain on clients or their families. This presentation will examine the impact of chronic pain with this population.
