Supervision is complicated as supervisors and supervisees navigate multiple tasks and roles. Recent changes to supervision rules in Texas have resulted in transitions that many supervisors and supervisees find daunting, particularly pertaining to LPC-Associates and their supervision requirements. In this presentation, the presenter will discuss current Texas rules regarding LPC-Associate supervision and ways that supervisors can be compliant with the rules while also increasing their effectiveness with supervisees. Counselors in training will learn ways to choose a supervisor and supervision rationales and documentation. During the presentation, handouts will be provided and discussion will be encouraged.
Learning Objectives: 

1. Attendees will learn ways to supervise LPC-Associates entering into solo practice.
2. Attendees will learn two supervision techniques to facilitate effective supervision.
3. Attendees will learn necessary documentation to be compliant with current Texas Board of Professional Counseling rules.
4. LPC Associates and counselors in training will learn where to access Texas LPC supervision requirements and three things they should look for in a supervisor.
