Piney Woods Counseling Association Presents: PWCA Virtual Winter Meeting/CE Event

We are offering two programs for this event!

1.Supervision in Counseling- Ethical Considerations:

This program will allow attendees to consider a range of ethical issues related directly to supervision and being a LPC-S. The need to ensure adequate supervision and safeguard the public and profession will be discussed. Considerations in term of the different roles, and responsibilities of both the supervisor and supervisee will be addressed including boundary issues and providing/accepting feedback. Cultural and diversity will be addressed as well as the consideration of the developmental model that is often used in supervision. Additionally, attendees will consider cases where there are ethical dilemmas that can occur in the process of supervising LPC-Associates.

2. Suicide in the US:
This program will allow attendees to consider factors that contribute to a client's overwhelming feeling of depression that can lead to suicidal thoughts. Attendees will consider the limits of confidentiality as well as how environmental factors can impact the prevention and intervention process. Understand the strengths of a client can help the counselor to determine treatment options. Taking a strengths-based approach will be discussed and examined. Participants will also explore the best way to handle situations based on examination of case studies
