Event Description
9:00am-11:00am The Drama of Trauma 2.0 General CE Presented by: Kathryn Crume
What is trauma? How do we work with clients who have experienced trauma? Statistics show at least 70% of adults in the US have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives, so the likelihood of encountering trauma in our rooms is high. We will learn what trauma is, how to effectively navigate the troubled waters trauma creates, and work together with our clients to find safety and helpful resources to stabilize their presenting problems. Then we will unpack how to clinically work with clients to heal and move on from their traumatic experiences.

Learning Objectves: 1. Conceptualize what trauma is and how to work with trauma 2. Understand the effects and impacts of trauma 3. Learn how to stabilize clients with distress tolerance coping skills and resourcing 4. Create a trauma-informed treatment plan for clients
