This presentation will explore the moral foundation of ethical principles of counseling, review selected TSEPCB disciplinary actions, and explore ethical decision-making models. Ethical issues are drawn from the presenters counseling experience as well as issues identified by board disciplinary actions.
Learning Objectives:

1. Understand Core Ethical Principles: Participants will be able to identify and explain the core ethical principles in counseling, including confidentiality, autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice.
.2. Analyze Ethical Dilemmas: Participants will develop the ability to critically analyze ethical dilemmas in counseling using real-world case studies and apply ethical principles to resolve them.
3. Apply Ethical Decision-Making Models: Participants will learn to utilize various ethical decision-making models to approach and resolve complex ethical issues in their counseling practice.
4. Recognize and Manage Boundaries: Participants will gain insights into the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and learn strategies to navigate dual relationships and other boundary-related challenges in counseling.
5. Enhance Ethical Awareness: Participants will increase their awareness of the ethical responsibilities of counselors and understand the potential consequences of ethical violations for clients, counselors, and the profession.
